Is Heaven Dusty?

June 23, 2013

Good Morning DearHearts,

I remember as a child hearing the axiom ” Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.

The phrase came back to me this morning after I had finished with the Saturday housekeeping duties.    I am sure it was used by my Mother to induce me to clean my room once upon a time ago and I am sure I did not question it back then.

But now, why are cleanliness and Godliness so linked?

I believe the answer is about respect and honor for those who visit and most certainly to honor our own Self.  It is about a welcoming space for others and our Self to BE at home.  It is about clearing, so the clutter of the busy-ness of the world is removed; thus allowing the energy of our Spirit to flow through our homes and life without distraction.

Living in a home where there is order, brings forth a space for calmness and quiet to thrive. God is very calm, there is no conflict. Can you imagine God searching for his car keys because He can not find them in the clutter? Certainly not the picture Heaven paints on our soul.

There was a time when families had dinnerware that was reserved for holidays and company. This was a gesture of respect and honor to either the occasion or guest. The house was always made ready before the visitors arrived.  The intention was to extend a welcome and show respect. I once worked with a person whose spouse went on “company alert” before gatherings at their home.

Cleanliness and order in our home shows respect to who we are. It prepares the space to welcome others who enter, because each Guest is God visiting.

There are many tales of a rich man waiting for his honored guest to arrive, having readied the house for the event.  Instead of the expected nobleman, a pauper arrives and is scorned and turned away. At the end of the story it is revealed that the poor man was really the honored guest in disguise.

Springtime is a season associated with re-birth and cleaning. The two items are most certainly linked. We clean out the dust and accumulated debris so the new can come forth. Let us recognize our own Heaven is the Sacred Space we inhabit and welcome others to visit. And let us honor our evolving Self by offering a clean space for our own Peace and Growth.

“ To your tired eyes I bring a vision of a different world, so new and clean and fresh you will forget the pain and sorrow that you saw before.”[1]

Remember There IS Great Love Here for US Now.

In Love, Light and Peace

It’s a darn good thing I have clients and sponsees coming semi regular to the homestead – or, it may never get uncluttered – cleaned! It’s a gift in reverse…
