Good Morning DearHearts,
December 21st marked the shortest day and longest night of 2013. The Winter Solstice is the welcoming of winter, although it has already been visiting much of the country for the past few weeks. It is also a sure sign that the end of another calendar year is upon us.
As I mentioned in my last blog this is always a time for reflection and perhaps inner searching as we realize another 365 days have come and gone. It becomes a series of memory flashbacks or overview of one’s life.
What moments in 2013 will we hold in our hearts forever? Which moments did we allow to steal away our peace and replace peace with fear-full thoughts? Ahh, but the good news is….. all of that is past.
The beauty and love that we experience each day is written on our hearts and minds. Each loving moment or Holy Instant increases our awareness of the real truth in this world. It leaves us desiring more of that unconditional moment when two hearts/ souls merged into an encounter with the conscious Mind. How lovely are those remembrances! Or maybe we should call them remem-embraces.
At the end of any time cycle we will also notice those beings that have “left” our physical world. I am not necessarily referring to a physical “death”, but merely the realization that we are no longer in contact or connected to certain ones. This is a natural occurrence in any life and sometimes even more for those on a spiritual path.
As we grow and expand our consciousness we seek to align with those who are also on a similar path of awareness. Therefore the friends and relatives who populated our world at one time may no longer be the ones to whom we gravitate. They are the ones who are “going”.
For every space we clear on our path there comes a new companion to walk with us. Our guides, teachers and new friends now have a space to occupy as they emerge in our existence.
Today is December 31st, a/k/a New Years Eve.
It is a monumental moment of Going and as the clock strikes or the “ball drops” in a mere instant there is a Coming. The arrival of 2014 will appear with fanfare and anticipation. There is a wave of Hope that comes with the dawning of a New Year. For a few moments we can suspend our desire to attack and in that space we welcome possibilities of hope and peace.
“The world becomes a place of hope, because its only purpose is to be a place where hope of happiness can be fulfilled. And no one stands outside this hope, because the world has been united in belief the purpose of the world is one which all must share, if hope be more than just a dream.”
ACIM Text 30:V:2:7
As I close this missive, there is another “Going” to be mentioned. Ken Wapnick, one of the ACIM pioneers “left” his earth home last Friday so he could GO Home.

There IS Great Love and Hope Here For Us Now!!!

Good Morning DearHearts,
“For some unknown reason” is often the explanation given for an action or reaction we have taken.
We don’t even consciously know why we suddenly had the thought to call another, or finally take care of that issue/project we had been delaying. However, something told us “do this now” “call them” “go there”.
Where did that guidance come from?
For many of us this guidance is spot on. By listening to this “voice” we have improved our current situation is some way, or we have enhanced the life of another.
There are of course many times we do not listen to the guidance as it comes to us and after the fact we realize we were mistaken to disregard the instruction. But still, we may recount the tale with the words “ for some unknown reason I did not listen”.
I personally like the realization that I do not need to know the reason for every small action I take. I have found that listening to the voice has been in my best interest and so many times it brings me to a place of delight. Yes, it sometimes interrupts the plans I made by suddenly guiding me to go somewhere unintended. I try not to question, I do not always succeed.
It could be said that the rekindling of my spiritual path happened for some unknown reason. I was at lunch with a friend who had recently moved back to town, when he suddenly asked if I had heard of “A Course in Miracles”? I asked what is it, and I that was my introduction to that wonderful blue book.
Q. Why did he ask?
A. For some unknown reason.
The ego tries to give us reasons when it is forming a plan to make another feel / have less and the “Reasoner” to have more. But when the guidance comes in a spontaneous manner it is not from the separated source. The ego must calculate every aspect of a plan to be sure it wins and another loses. The Clear Guidance from Source is in the Now and not projecting future results.
“Reason is not salvation in itself, but it makes way for peace and brings you to a state of mind in which salvation can be given you.” Text Chap. 22 III:3:1
Our acceptance of those unknown reasons in our life is a path we can follow to our own enlightenment.

Good Morning DearHearts,
Recently I experienced what I shall refer to as a “medical situation”. Like many of these experiences it arrived without any advance notice and therefore was considered a surprise. As the situation progressed it became the full focus of my attention and remained in that coveted spot for several weeks.
As the experience unfolded and played out I kept trying to remind myself to “see the blessings”. I knew nothing appears without a benefit but in the middle of the drama it is often hard to remember and find the seemingly elusive blessings.
I found myself in the hospital; and was then told I would need an operation. My mind was in total disbelief and I felt a little betrayed by my body. But there I was and from an ACIM perspective there was a reason I was there.
One thing I experienced was an abundance of love and prayers coming my way from every direction. As my daughter posted my situation on her FB page and asked for prayers to guide me through the operation, the response was significant and immediate. I received phone calls and text messages from friends and co-workers. I experienced being held in the Light of Healing.
And OH those nurses and aides!
Nurses have been referred to as “angels of mercy” and although none on my floor had wings tucked under their uniforms, most of them possessed the exact characteristics hoped for under the circumstances. They were kind, reassuring, gentle and caring.
In particular however, was one aide who was truly an angel. I will not divulge her name but I do want to share why she was so angelic to me.
She is obviously a woman with a big heart and she always came in my room with a smile and a reassurance. She spoke of her family and asked about mine, she never seemed to be in a rush to get to her next patient, she was so gentle when she had to stick me with needles that I barely felt a thing.
However what convinced me of her angelic status was on the day of the operation. It had been a very long time since I was in that situation and I could feel myself getting fearful. My “angel” walked in and saw tears in my eyes. She gave me a hug that was full of loving kindness and then she asked me, “Do you have a relationship with God?” I nodded yes and she looked at me and said, “You are going to be fine”, and I believed her.
The worry and fear I had felt seemed to slip away and I was calm. It truly felt as though I had received a heavenly message.
She was right, I am fine.
To my knowledge stories of angels appear in most, if not all, religions. They also have a prominent place in many spiritual paths and stories of near death experiences. Angels are indeed everywhere.
A Course in Miracles does not dwell on the presence of angels, but they indeed are mentioned several times. One favorite mentioning is from the Text, Chapter 26.
“Around you angels hover lovingly, to keep away all darkened thoughts of sin, and keep the light where it has entered in.”
My angel most certainly hovered and dispelled the dark thoughts. She is a reminder

Good Morning DearHearts,
On many an occasion someone at work has complimented me on my outfit and asked, “Is that new?” Many times my answer is “no, I went shopping in the back of my closet.” It was purchased, once worn and then forgotten. When it was re-discovered it brought back the distant memory of the acquisition and the wonderment of why did I forget it was there?
In a way, the rediscovery of our Spiritual Center is the same as the lost blouse.
On some degree of remembering we know where we “left” our Self. We have a vague memory of the Oneness but somehow it was laid down somewhere when we were otherwise occupied, usually with some ego issue. After a bit we went looking for that Wholeness, but since it is the essence of quiet we could not locate it unless we too were quiet.
As time passed (or seemed to) we started to miss the Wholeness. In fact there seemed to be a hole within that could not be satisfied by any ego action, work or purchase. In that instant we went to” the back of closet” to see if perhaps we could locate that not quite forgotten Self.
Travelling a spiritual path is like real estate it is all about “location, location, location.”
Everyone is on a path, even those that seem to still be sleeping. It is only a question of where on the chosen path we think we are and our thought of just how far away is the journey’s end. There is no mapping device provided, but neither is one needed. The goal is always there, in this case within, so it is much more a rediscovery rather than a quest. We search for what we already have, like the clothing in the back of closet.
“What had been lost has now been found. The peace of God descends on all the world, and we can see. And we can see!” (Manual for Teachers #19)

Good Morning DearHearts,
There is a question I will periodically ask to get to know someone. I have also utilized this question when I have been part of a team interviewing perspective new employees. I think this is one of the most revealing questions to ask another or yourself.
What makes your heart sing?
We all have the jobs and responsibilities we tend to each day, month and year. We may have certain financial goals or desires we want to attain. But all this aside what IS it that makes your heart sing? What one activity or part of your day or week invigorates you and brings Joy to you every time? What pursuit in time brings forth a sense of aliveness and purpose to you?
For me it is most certainly Friday evenings with my ACIM family or any other time I can utilize the Truth to assist with someone’s journey or my own.
There are many other activities that I enjoy and get lost in time when doing them, writing, cooking and gardening to name a few. BUT the joy that is felt in every part of my heart when I am in the middle of extending love and truth pales all other moments.
We are meant to have these moments because they reveal to us how we are expressing God through our life.
Unimagined Joy
Totally Present (In the Now and In the Know)
Feeling You Have Found Your True Calling
All of this and more will be experienced as you uncover and discover the notes of the Song that resides within your Heart.
The relationship between you and whatever brings this great joy to you is a Holy Relationship, because it comes to us through Holy Spirit who is giving you a glimpse of the Light of Heaven. Nothing is manipulated in this union; you are not forcing or trying to change it to receive more. On the contrary you are just giving everything you can and are thereby receiving more than what is given.
The heart song is one of freedom and “….sings the praises of another world, brings to it hope of peace. For it remembers Heaven……” A Course in Miracles, Chapter 21.
Here’s another remembrance

Good Morning DearHearts,
Hope you are enjoying a long newly Septembered weekend.
One of the most exhilarating and at the same time frightening things a writer faces is the blank page.
The open space on the paper is a “field of infinite possibilities” as Deepak Chopra would say, and also a daunting obstacle to overcome. What goes on this blank page? What is there to convey and who is reading? All of these are thoughts that many writers have had. However, these are all Fear thoughts that are born from the ego mind. This is the dialogue of littleness.
The script of grandeur is the one penned by Holy Spirit. His book is written by the Hand of God and only has happy endings and positive thoughts. To the ego this is the most boring of pastimes and not even a good read. Don’t we need high drama and great losses to have a reason to stay interested? Perhaps not.
Perhaps when we truly decide we want only Peace we can be happy and fulfilled by only immersing our mind in those thoughts. Perhaps we have the ability to actually give up drama and perilous scenarios and choose Peace in place of all other choices.
How delight-full this will BE.
I would love to report that I am currently enjoying this non-stop nirvana, but alas I am still an occasional drama queen. There are still moments where fear takes over and runs like the wind through my mind leaving in it’s tracks anything from mild discomfort to terror. All of this can I avoid if the decision for Peace is made as soon as any thought of fear arises in my mind. The Peace Decision is one of turning to Forgiveness.
This is the only sure way to fill the blank page with a memorable story.
From the Text of A Course in Miracles:
“Fear is a judgment never justified. Its presence has no meaning but to show you wrote a fearful script, and are afraid accordingly.”

Good Morning DearHearts,
We appear to be living in a world of going, going until we are gone.
We get up each morning to go – somewhere.
We go to work, to school, to the gym, we go to the grocery store, the mall, we go to the doctors, and we go on vacation. We are constantly going.
It is no wonder we believe we have to “GO to Heaven”. We have been indoctrinated to believe every place we want to be is outside of where we currently are. The only way to BE there – is to travel there.
Is it possible to travel someplace without taking a step or dying? As a matter of fact it is.
Now I am not sure you can actually get to the grocery store without a trip in the car, but I am positive the journey to Heaven does not require a reservation or passport. This is one trip that does not require luggage, in fact, the sooner you lose your “baggage” the sooner your destination will be reached.
Ah yes, baggage! Not always easy to lose when we desire to do so and of course we are not referring to Samsonite. I am speaking of those thousands of preconceived ideas that have found their way into our thoughts and have been turned into judgments. Our hands and egos have been wrapped around these judgments and have sprinkled them with guilt and shame. They have become veils that cover our brilliance and truth. In order to pry our hearts loose from these gossamer detractors we must first truly desire to travel an alternate pathway by having a “little willingness” to do so.
Once the True Decision has been made the Universe will handle your travel plans. Your travel companions will appear and will offer new thoughts to replace the judgments that are being relinquished.
Without a replacement thought we may feel we are being deprived as we surrender, so it is important to have the soulful companions by our side with their offerings. We will be guided.
And as for the actual journey?
Well here is the surprise – we are already there, it is the only trip we will ever take where we arrived before we started. Obviously we never needed the baggage.
In Lesson 227 from A Course in Miracles we are joyfully reminded
“ … we find our glad return to Heaven, which we never really left.”
Here’s to Happy Beginnings.

Good Morning Dearhearts,
For those who have ever attended the Friday night ACIM group I facilitate, you will probably remember how during the course of the evening participants share their experiences that enhance the current discussion topic. I always state that our group setting is a “safe and sacred space”. Akin to the ads for Las Vegas what happens there stays there.
I do not intend to divulge any sharing that occurred in that space, but I do want to speak in general terms about the importance of those sharing’s.
In the span any one lifetime, thousands upon thousands of experiences will happen. However, even though the expanse of happenings may be huge, not every possibility will occur to any ONE single being. The scenarios of our ego mind are almost limitless. Deceptions, twists and turns, disasters and heart wrenching incidents are only the tip of the ego’s iceberg.
When we gather and unburden or share our self to other like minded beings we are actually allowing the incidents to be transformed to the lessons we all need to learn. As we lesson our burden we teach lessons to others. There is no other perspective to have for this offering except appreciation.
Every moment we become aware of another having an experience we would choose to not have, we have the opportunity to bless and thank them for their Great Gift. This is in no way limited to any single situation; in truth being thankful is never limited. To be grateful is a sure sign we are beginning to dwell in the expansiveness of Love rather than in the limited life of the small self.
Appreciation can be found everywhere, but we do not always recognize it when it appears. It does not always show up in a form we can instantly identify. Oftentimes it will go un-noticed because it has no familiar characteristics to what we believe we know deserves our gratitude.
Here again is why we will only reach Heaven hand in hand with our Brother (Sisters too). We may think we reach our hand out to comfort someone for what they have experienced, but in Truth we are joining with them to Thank them for bringing All of US closer to the end/ beginning of our journey.
A Course in Miracles states in Chapter 6: V:A:4:7
“Only one equal gift can be offered to the equal Sons of God, and that is full appreciation. Nothing more and nothing less.”
At this moment I want all to know how much I appreciate the time you have taken to read this and encourage you to leave a comment. Whether you do or do not….

Good Morning DearHearts,
Recently I have noticed how many TV shows and movies begin with a scene in the current moment and then flashback to explain how the character arrived in that situation. The audience sees the unfolding of the story that might go back hours, days, months or even years. The action began in the past but the events brought “the hero/heroine” to the now.
So here is the question I am posing to all reading this, what is your story?
I will guess that you too have committed (fully or partially) to a more spiritual existence. What were the incidents or accidents (no coincidence) that first unfolded to bring you to this now moment?
I believe we are all spiritual beings and began as such, but sometimes that awareness falls away due to the strong pull of the material ego world. But at some moment all have or will have the flash of awareness again. This is the re-beginning of our true identity or story.
My rediscovery began at a lunch with a friend who had just moved back into town. As our conversation progressed he asked me if I had heard of “A Course in Miracles’?
I replied, “What’s that and who wrote it?” (I was in for a surprise). That became a turning point in my life. That is how my story began.
There is great benefit on the occasional refection of how we arrived where we are now. Remembering how we began this journey helps to give us clarification of why we persist even when all does not appear to be what we most desire. To remember helps us to recommit and reconnect.
As we mind travel through those moments of insight and awareness we can truly experience the happiness that has been planned for us.
“My happiness and function are one, because God has given me both.” ( Lesson 66 11:2)

Remember you can leave a comment at the bottom.
Good Morning DearHearts,
One of Shakespeare’s memorable characters says in “Twelfth Night”
“Some are born great, some achieve greatness and some have greatness thrust upon them”
Over the past several weeks I have decided change has many similarities with greatness.
Some are hesitant to change, some look forward to change and some have change thrust upon them.
Having either greatness or change thrust upon you will produce a certain amount of unsettled feelings. Life as you have come to know it will never be the same.
You may long for the old and familiar but it is gone.
You may try to conjure up a way to mend the past, but that is of course impossible. The past is gone.
You may insist on resisting the change but like your destiny it will unfold with or without your permission.
The only real course of action is to gather the strength to embrace the change. This is easier said than done.
Allow yourself to be angry or sad if the change is not to your liking. Allow yourself time to flounder, be a recluse or just rant about your mis or fortune.
Then STOP! Do not become indulgent with your self. Put a limit on despair. You must decide on how long you truly want to be miserable and act on that.
Decide to Trust.
A Course in Miracles tells us “Trust would settle every problem now.”
To trust fully we must be willing to release our investment and control on the outcome of the change. Often as change occurs in our life (yes we can say it is all an illusion, but doesn’t it seem like it IS happening?) we immediately plan how it will be resolved. All of this planning is merely another attempt to control what is out of our control. Let’s face it, we are control freaks.
Caroline Myss has often spoke of “living in the mystery”. This is a perfect explanation of what it means to trust.
Realize there can actually be great comfort in not knowing the outcome; as long as you are willing to believe that a Higher Source that loves you eternally is guiding you to your highest good. This is one thing that does NOT Change.
This will not necessarily remove the shock of the next change that comes to you, but will hopefully allow you to move through and to it quicker.
And REMEMBER, There IS Great Love Here For US Now!
In Light, Love and Peace,
Janet
