Hurricane Wisdom

September 20, 2017

Good Morning DearHearts,

I hope as you read this you have come through the storm called Irma and are back to your spiritual practice and life.  Obviously you have internet.

For those who are relatively new to my writing, I want to restate that the reason I started blogging was to put forth the idea that EVERYTHING is not only connected but IS spiritual.  My task each time I write is to put another piece of the vast life puzzle together in a spiritual way.  There are many parts of this experience that do not initially seem as though there is ANYTHING beneficial within the situation.  I choose to find an awareness anywhere I can.

My first Irma awareness came through the constant question of “do you have electricity?” I inadvertently answered, “I have power” and then realized what I said.  Indeed, I have power and so do YOU.  Power is actually more beneficial in the long term, although it may not run the air conditioner.

Our Power comes from a place that is within and which cannot be “cut off” by a strong wind or rainfall.  Tap in to this Source and you will not receive a bill at the end of the month telling you how much you “owe”.  This Power is free for all.

My second awareness born from the storm was Gratitude.

Many of the commonplace conveniences that are encountered each day are taken for granted.  There is no thought given to their appearance or usefulness, they blend into the mundane landscape of our experience.

Truthfully, I haven’t given much thought to the amazing benefit of traffic lights, until they weren’t operational last week.  Oh My- how they were missed.

The absence of the red, green and yellow illuminations however, did bring forth an amazing amount of courtesy on the roads.  This generous behavior was another hurricane ah-ha.

The term “random acts of kindness” came into awareness way back in the 1980’s.  It is defined as a non premeditated kind action.  Most ACIM students would simply call it a miracle because random acts of kindness are in perfect alignment with the 50 Principles of Miracles, found in Chapter 1 of the ACIM Textbook.

Here are just a few of the principles that “explain” how so many have been extending assistance (Love) to strangers in the form of food, water, housing, generators and countless other ways.

#8-Miracles are healing because they supply a lack, they are performed by those who temporarily have more for those who temporarily have less.

#16-Miracles are teaching devices for demonstrating it is as blessed to give as to receive.  They simultaneously increase the strength of the giver and supply strength to the receiver.

#40- The miracle acknowledges everyone as your brother and mine. It is a way of perceiving the universal mark of God.

Extreme situations have often brought forth selfless behavior.  We all become the beneficiary of this behavior because it soothes the fear that permeates the unknown outcome of the experience.

Acts of kindness or miracles cannot be forgotten.  Long after the traffic lights are operational or electricity has all air conditioners humming somewhere in the recesses of the mind the miracles WILL be remembered.

And Please Also Remember the Boundless Love that is Here for YOU!!

In Love, LIGHT and Peace,

Janet Weissman
