A Good Memory

June 16, 2013

Good Morning DearHearts,

Many are proud that they have a good memory. Some can recall with great clarity events and experiences that happened long ago in time.  Of those who tout their ability to remember, some have learned that being able to retrieve minute details can sometimes be a less than desirable quality.  The preoccupation with who, what, when and why events occurred  keeps the rememberer locked in the past.  The one with a good memory may continue to have unpleasant memories.

Does this mean that it is better to acquire a selective form of amnesia? Not exactly.

The true solution to keeping only the joyful moments and releasing the ones that have saddened us is forgiveness.  Forgiveness allows us to bring light to a situation that our mind has cloaked in darkness.  The more unpleasant we have interpreted the past event to have been, the more darkness we have placed around it.  Many have spoken of the past with the phrase “the darkest day of my life”. The shadow times will remain so unless  we grant illumination.

This is also true for past people in our life.  If we have had an unsavory or challenging experience with someone and we can not bring ourselves to see that being in any other way, we are locking them and us in an unlit   room.  This darkened place will keep hidden the true reason for our relationship with each being, to recognize our Bond of Light.  Forgiveness will facilitate the release of the judgements we have placed on others and ourself. We can and will join each Soul in Light.

The key to Forgiveness is willingness.  Are we ready to embrace only the fun, exhilarating, joyful, loving memories we have had? It will require us to release the attachment (addiction) we have had with pain and woefulness.  Even though this seems like it would be an easy decision to make, it is not.

Remember the love you felt when you  were embraced by others and not the disagreements or perceived wounds.  No thing ever has or can harm your Spirit, this being true means each of us remains whole even when we do not perceive it. We are wholly capable of remembering the beautiful moments that have enhanced our ability to recognize Love. As we connect with the memory of Love we are learning and remembering our True Self. It is possible to have a good memory of only  good memories.

“And when the memory of God has come to you in the holy place of forgiveness you will remember nothing else …”[1]

One more note, remember to take that supplement for your memory, oh what is it called?? Ummmm lecithin, yeah that’s it.

In Love and Light,

Janet
